Former deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank Nazrul Huda has been appointed as Director and Chairman of Rupali Bank PLC.
The government has appointed this experienced banker as the chairman of state-owned Rupali Bank for 3 years, according to a media release.
The appointment was made through a notification issued by the Finance Ministry's Financial Institutions division on Tuesday (August 13).
He was a member of Bangladesh Bank’s Board of Directors. He also successfully worked as a deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank for a long time. Nazrul Huda, who has 35 years of experience in the central bank, has worked on missions in various international organizations and also was an advisor to the Maldives Monetary Authority.
The senior central banker did his post-graduation in economics from University of New England, Australia and University of Dhaka, the release adds.
