Shabbir Ahmed joins ONE Bank as AMD

Mr. Shabbir Ahmed has joined ONE Bank PLC as its Additional Managing Director with effect from October 03, 2024.

Prior to joining OBPLC, he was the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC, according to a media release. 

He began his banking career as a Probationary Officer at IFIC Bank in the year 1989. He served in various responsible positions at BASIC Bank, Dutch-Bangla Bank, American Express Bank, National Housing Finance & Investment Ltd and The City Bank. Earlier, he served ONE Bank as Additional Deputy Managing Director and Head of Corporate Asset Marketing (North).

He has extensive practical experience in banking operations especially Foreign Trade, Risk Management, Investment and Marketing activities etc. He attended a good number of training programs and workshops at home and abroad. He has obtained his Hons. & Master degrees in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
