Trust Bank PLC and Water.org formally launched their strategic WaterCredit collaboration through a ceremony held on May 10, 2026, at Utshab Hall of Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden Hotel, Dhaka.
According to a press release, the event was organised by the SME Division of Trust Bank PLC.
Under this partnership, Trust Bank PLC will mobilize a dedicated WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) financing portfolio amounting to BDT 350 crore over the next three years. The initiative aims to expand access to finance for MSMEs and microfinance institutions operating in the water and sanitation sector across Bangladesh, contributing to improved public health, sanitation facilities, and sustainable development.
The program was graced by Major General Mohd Hossain Al Morshed, ndc, afwc, psc, Vice Chairman of Trust Bank PLC and Adjutant General of Bangladesh Army, as the Chief Guest.
Chowdhury Liakat Ali, Director of the Sustainable Finance Department (SFD) of Bangladesh Bank, attended the event as Special Guest. In his remarks, he highlighted Bangladesh Bank’s continued commitment to promoting green and sustainable finance initiatives within the country’s banking sector.
Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury, Managing Director & CEO of Trust Bank PLC, delivered the institutional address and reaffirmed the bank’s strong commitment to inclusive, sustainable, and impact-driven financing initiatives.
Senior officials of Trust Bank PLC, representatives from Water.org Bangladesh, and invited guests from the financial and development sectors were also present at the event.
The ceremony concluded with an agreement signing session, memento exchange, and a networking dinner.
