'BEPZA contributing lot to implement SDGs'

BEPZA is contributing a lot to implement Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Vision 2021 and the Vision 2041. It is tremendously contributing in industrialisation through attracting investment, export enhancement, product diversification and socio economic development of the country.


Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury made the remarks while inaugurating the newly-constructed Zone Services Complex of Adamjee EPZ in Narayanganj on Saturday.


He said the success of BEPZA led the government to establish economic zones in the country.


“BEPZA is a unique organisation which is a brand in the global business arena,” he added.


BEPZA Executive Chairman Maj Gen Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan was present and also spoke.


Maj Gen Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan said said BEPZA has been contributing 20 per cent to the total national export and FDI from eight EPZs.


He said under the direct supervision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina BEPZA achieved 179.19pc growth in investment, 216.57pc in export and 118.44pc in employment generation during the last eight years of her government.
