Eight BD groups to participate in NASA Space Apps Challenge

Eight Bangladeshi youth groups will participate in the international phase of NASA Space Apps Challenge 2018.

The groups have secured the opportunity on Sunday with their projects through a competition organised by Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS).

BASIS with the support of its student’s forum organised the competition, 4^th NASA Space Apps Challenge Bangladesh, at the Independent University campus on October 19 and 20.   

Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar addressed the event as the chief guest and handed over prizes to the winners.

In his speech Mr Jabbar said through space apps challenge BASIS has created a platform to showcase the talents of the country’s youngsters.

“Last year Bangladesh obtained two places in World’s Top 10. We are hopeful about doing better this year,” he added.

NASA has organised this event in 250 cities globally.

In Bangladesh participants from nine cities competed at the final event, said NASA Space Apps Challenge 2018 Bangladesh Convener Didarul Alam.
