The government has reduced the number of subjects by three and scores by 200 in Junior School Certificate and equivalent examinations in an effort to ease the stress on the students.

Now, there will be no second paper in English and Bangla, and an optional subject in the exams.

It means the number of subjects will come down to seven from the existing 10, reports bdnews24.com.

Secondary and Higher Secondary Secretary Md Sohrab Hossain told reporters that this decision was taken to reduce the burden on students.

According to the changed decision, the examination will be held in 650 scores instead of the existing 850 in JSC, 850 instead of the existing 1,050 in JDC.
