IUB holds ‘Bangladesh Youth Symposium 2018’

Youth School for Social Entrepreneurs (YSSE), in association with Independent HR Society (IHRS) of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), has organised ‘’Bangladesh Youth Symposium 2018’’ on the university campus in the capital.

Jalal Ahmed, Executive Project Director of Skill Employment Investment Programme (SEIP), was the keynote speaker of the event held on Thursday.

Sidsel Bleken, Norwegian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Prof. Milan Pagon, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the IUB, Bibi Russel, Entrepreneur & Fashion Designer, were present at the programme as special guests.

The main objective of the event was to inspire the students towards self-employment through social entrepreneurship and thus making a big impact in the society through the comprehensive efforts.

The entrepreneurs and specialists in the sector conducted sessions during the daylong programme, says a media release.

Mr Ahmed described that the entrepreneurial journey is never easy and the future entrepreneurs must well-equip themselves to succeed in the path.

He also shared the process that students need to follow to attain success in self-employment.

Zara Mahbub, Executive Vice President, BRAC Bank, Ghulam Sumdany Don, Chief Inspirational Officer, Don Sumdany Facilitation, Tajdin Hasan, Head of Marketing, the Daily Star, Khaled Mahfuz, Programme Officer, PKSF, also delivered speeches at the function.

They shared insights about entrepreneurship, its future, and the process that students should practice to triumph.

Earlier, Dr. A N M Shibly Noman Khan, Head, Department of Human Resources Management, IUB and Prof. Aminur Rahman, Head, Department of Economics, IUB, delivered the welcome speech.
