Two-day Career Fest starts at DU

A two-day long Career Fest kicked off Monday at the TSC premises of Dhaka University (DU).

It is being organised by the Dhaka University Career Club, said a press release.

While inaugurating the programme, DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman called upon the students to prepare themselves as skilled human resources for making Bangladesh a developed country.

Stressing the need for introducing internship programmes at different industries to develop professional skills of the graduates, he said, the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has already been set up at DU to produce skilled human resources.

He emphasized on creating relationship among academia and industries for expansion of job market in the country, reports UNB.

Among others, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies of DU Prof. Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Professor of the Department of Marketing Dr. ABM Shahidul Islam, Assistant Prof. of the Department of Organization Strategy & Leadership Md. Rashedur Rahman, President of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) Syed Almas Kabir, Coordinator of Youth Program of Prothom Alo Munir Hasan and President of DU Career Club Muhayminul Islam also addressed the inaugural program.

32 private companies and 16 public and private universities are participating in the Career Fest, across two days.
