A five-day road show involving ‘Baul’ and ‘Jari’ songs began in Dhaka North City Corporation areas on Sunday to raise awareness about the prevention of two mosquito-borne diseases – dengue and chikungunya.
DNCC panel mayor Aleya Sarwar Daisy inaugurated the road show at Karwan Bazar at 9 am, said a press release.
Speaking on the occasion, Daisy said DNCC has taken all-out measures to control mosquito and mosquito-borne diseases, reports BSS.
Side by side the mainstream mass media and social media, DNCC is using folk songs as a medium to raise awareness about prevention of dengue and chikungunya, she added.
