Govt to fix diagnostic test fees at all private hospitals: Health Minister

The government will fix diagnostic test fees at all private hospitals by formulating the Health Protection Act, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen has said.

“We are in the process of formulating the Health Protection Act. I am travelling from one village to another for the sake of the betterment of the health services. After formulating the Health Protection Act, diagnostic test fees at all private hospitals in the country will be fixed,” he said while visiting Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib Memorial KPJ Specialized Hospital in Gazipur city on Saturday, local media reported.

Emphasising the capabilities of Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib Memorial KPJ Specialized Hospital, he said that this hospital is equipped with all modern equipment for providing better health services.

It will be activated further to ensure that the common people can access enhanced services, he added.

When questioned about the high costs of services at this specialised hospital, he said, “We will try to adjust these costs through discussions.”

Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mohammad Nazmul Hasan Papn and Gazipur Deputy Commissioner Abul Fate Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, among others, were present.
