Paratha has been a staple part of breakfasts in the Indian Subcontinent. A person might eat 1-3 parathas with curry, egg omelette or vegetables in the morning. But what if anyone sells a paratha large enough to feed an entire family?

A shop in front of Khalishpur Thana Port School in Khulna sells such a rare treat– the Shahi Paratha, a giant flatbread weighing half a kilogram. This exceptional paratha shop operates from 8 pm to 5 am, tirelessly churning out these enormous treats night after night.

The journey of these gigantic parathas doesn't end there; they are distributed from one restaurant to another via a morning van, ensuring that this royal breakfast option reaches as many tables as possible.

Crafted from simple ingredients – flour, salt, and water – each Shahi Paratha becomes a hefty serving, costing 80 taka per piece. Bulk purchases are also available at 120 taka per kilogram. The shop even offers the convenience of takeaway, allowing locals to bring the Shahi Paratha experience straight from the kitchen to their homes.

This culinary shop has served these king-sized parathas for over two decades, becoming a beloved tradition for Khalishpur residents. Families, generation after generation, have embraced the morning ritual of relishing these parathas with homemade curry.

The nostalgia surrounding this iconic shop draws customers back, creating a unique blend of tradition and culinary delight that continues to shape the breakfast routines of many in Khulna.

The Shahi Paratha experience doesn't end with its sheer size; the shop also presents the option of pairing it with Shahi Halwa, a dessert that perfectly complements the enormity of the paratha. This sweet addition has become a sought-after item for those indulging in the Shahi Paratha feast.

The impact of this humble yet grand breakfast offering has surpassed the boundaries of Khalishpur, gaining popularity across Khulna.

Its fame has transcended time; every morning, locals eagerly queue up to participate in this delightful tradition. The Shahi Paratha has become a meal and a symbol of Khulna's culinary heritage, bringing joy and satisfaction to countless breakfast tables in the city.
