38 held for 'cheating' in primary teacher recruitment test

Thirty-eight people were detained on Friday in Satkhira, Pabna and Laxmipur for their alleged involvement in leaking question paper of primary teacher recruitment test.

In Satkhira, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained 29 suspected members of a gang from Kalaroa upazila in the morning, reports UNB.

A RAB-6 team raided Sonali Super Market where candidates gathered on Thursday night to get questions and solution, said Lt Col Mohammad Mahmudur Rahman, commander of Satkhira RAB.

The gang had assured the candidates of providing questions and answers through mobile phones in exchange for money.

In Pabna, police detained four youths from a mess in Radhanagar area of the town. They were using various devices for cheating in the exam.

In another incident, four other people were held from different examination centers in the town, said Additional Police Superintendent Gautam Kumar Bishwas.

In Laxmipur, police detained Md Solaiman from Laxmipur Government College after exam questions were found in his cell phone.

Deputy Commissioner Anajan Chandra Pal said the detainee confessed that he had bought the question paper for Tk 25,000.
