As many as 491 dengue patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours until 8:00am on Thursday, according to government sources.
Among them, 159 were admitted in Dhaka and 332 were admitted elsewhere in the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the total, the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) admitted 47 patients alone.
DGHS also said 68 people died from dengue disease this year.
However, local media reported many more people have become victim of dengue until September.
In the meantime, some 2,226 people currently are being treated for dengue, and 903 of them are taking treatment in 41 in Dhaka and 1,323 in different parts of the country.
A total 83,481 patients had been hospitalised since January 1. Of the total, 81,052 were discharged from hospital after recovery.
97 per cent of the dengue affected people got released from hospital after recovery.
DGHS data showed that dengue infection started decreasing in September while August has already broken all previous records of infecting with dengue disease in a single month affecting 52636 people.
