A housewife sustained severe burn injuries in an acid attack allegedly by her husband in Natore in the early hours of Sunday.
The victim is Rashida Begum, wife of Hashem Ali of sadar upazila of the region.
The attack was made in the dead of night while she was asleep in her house, said family sources.
Hearing Rashida’s screams, neighbours of Aorail village rushed in and took her to Natore Sadar Hospital.
Her back and left hand were severely burnt, so doctors quickly moved her to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, UNB reported.
The husband Hashem Ali remained absconding since the incident.
