We have created 156 more posts in Department of Shipping. We have created 21 posts of surveyors to survey vessels. Process to appoint 12 new shipping inspectors is at its fag end,” the minister said at the launching function held at BIWTA auditorium in the capital, reports BSS.

Shahjahan Khan further said the government is going to modernise lighthouses in Cox’s Bazar, Saint Martin and Kutubdia, establish new lighthouses in Nijhum Dwip, Dhalchar, Dublarchar and Kuakata and coastal radio station under Global Maritime Distress and Safety System and Integrated Maritime Navigation System.
