B’baria Palli Bidyut worker killed by thunderbolt

A worker of Palli Bidyut Samity was killed by lightning at Boro Pukurpar area in Bijoynagar upazila on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Saiful Islam, 35, a line man of Suhilpur Palli Bidyut office and hailing from Chouddagram upazila of Cumilla district.

Locals said Saiful fell from the electric poll after being hit by a lightning bolt in the afternoon, reports UNB.

Later, he was taken to the Bijoynagar Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared him dead, said Ali Arshad, officer-in-charge of Bijoynagar Police Station.
