BGB men arrest youth with 13,265 Yaba pills in Teknaf

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested a young man along with 13,265 pieces of contraband Yaba pills from Nazirpara in Teknaf Sadar upazila early Tuesday.

The arrestee was identified as Md Syed Alam, 34, son of Abdul Goni of the same village.

Being tipped-off, an elite force team conducted a drive in the area and arrested Alam from his residence, said commander Lt Col Asaduzzaman Chowdhury of Teknaf-2 BGB.

Later, the team recovered the Yaba pills estimated to have a street value of almost Tk 4 million from a cowshed.

Alam was taken to Teknaf Model Police Station with the Yaba pills. A case was filed in this connection, the BGB commander added, reports UNB.
