Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) will observe the ‘World Metrology Day’ to make people aware of the importance of measurement in everyday life.
The theme of this year’s metrology day is ‘The International System of Units-Fundamentally Better’.
BSTI will arrange a seminar at its headquarters in the city to mark the day.
Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun is expected to attend the seminar as the chief guest, while State minister for Ministry of Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder will be present as a special guest.
Besides, Secretary of industry ministry Md Abdul Halim will preside over the meeting and director General (DG) of BSTI Md Muazzem Hossain will deliver the welcome speech.
President Md Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, State Minister of Ministry of Industry Kamal Ahmed Mojumder and director of BIPM (International Bureau of Weights and Measures) conveyed separate messages on the occasion.
