Students of the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), protesting the death of a peer after being run over by a bus, have left the street at Nodda in Dhaka following a daylong demonstration.

Traffic returned to normalcy after 6pm on Tuesday when the protesters lifted the blockade, according to bdnews24.com Staff Correspondent Joyanta Saha.

Maisha Noor, a BUP student, announced the suspension of the blockade for the day on behalf of the protesters.

The protests would resume on Wednesday morning, she said and urged the students to gather at the gate of the Bashundhara Residential Area at 8am.
