Cargo vessel capsizes in Pashur river

A cargo vessel loaded with raw materials of cement sank in the Pashur River in Harbaria area of Mongla upazila on Sunday night.

 

Commander Oli Ullah, harbour master of Mongla Port authority, said a crack developed at the bottom of 'MV-Sheba' after loading 870 metric tonnes of raw material of cement from a foreign vessel.

Later, the vessel sank while it was heading towards the bank of the river.

The port authority asked the owner of the vessel to remove the cement raw materials from the river soon; according to UNB
