Corruption is the root of disparity and treachery: Anisul

Corruption, as the root of all societal and economic evil, is creating disloyalty and disparity in the country.

Law Minister Anisul Huq came up with the remark on Sunday while speaking at a seminar as the chief guest held at the National Press Club in the capital.

“The corruption has created social debauchment and disparity”, he said.

The minister, at the meeting organised by Bangladesh Pragatishil Columnist Forum, also said corruption has attacked the spirit of liberation war.

“The country cannot allow any sorts of corruption as it is an assault on the spirit of liberation war and its dream", said he.   

Anisul also said corruption is spreading like an epidemic and hampering people’s ideology and morality in many professions.

The law minister also called upon all to curb corruption through all-out efforts.

Mr Huq urged the government along with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to ensure digitisation in every public and private office to reduce, if not exterminate, corruption.
