Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) during a drive seized 27 gold bars from Taluigaccha border area in Satkhira Sadar upazila on Wednesday noon.
After being tipped off that a consignment of smuggled gold was coming from India, a team of BGB raided the area around 12.30pm and seized the gold, said LT Col Sarker Mosatfizur Rahman.
UNB reported quoting Rahman that the smugglers fled away sensing the presence of the law enforcers.
