The 115th version of Jobbarer Boli Khela, a traditional wrestling tournament in Chattogram, was held at Laldighi Ground in the port city on Thursday.

Bagha Sharif, a newcomer from Cumilla, won the title of this edition of wrestling tournament beating Rashed Boli, another contestant from his district.

Srijan Chakma from Khagrachari secured the third place in this year's competition.

As many as 84 people, including teenagers and the elderly, have participated in the event this year.

Thousands of spectators were present at the Laldighi Ground to enjoy the traditional game on Thursday afternoon.

In 1909, merchant Abdul Jobbar Sawdagar launched the tournament in Chattogram’s Laldighi ground to inspire youths during the anti-British movement.

The traditional tournament held along with a fair in Baishakh, the first month on the Bangla calendar, is now called Jabbarer Boli Khela.
