A farmer was killed on Sunday morning in lightning strike at Shimra village of Comilla Sadar upazila.
The dead is identified as Abdu Mia, a resident of Shimra village, reports UNB.
Locals said Abdu was working in a field nearby his house during heavy rainfall in the morning.
He later came under lightning strike around 8:00am when he took shelter under a palm tree. Abdu died on the spot.
