Police on Saturday arrested four people including the Ameer of the upazila unit of Jamaat-e-Islamiduring a drive at Sotokhata village in Dimla upazila of Nilphamari district.
The detainees were identified as Mohiur Rahman, 50, Jamaat Ameer of Dimla upazila unit and son of Mofij Uddin of Sotokhata village, Mujibur Rahman, 47, vice- chairman of Dimla Upazila Parishad and local Jamaat leader, Joynul Abedin, Jamaat president of Balapara Union unit, ABM Shamsul Haque, 66, Jamaat president of EastSatnaiunion.
Police also recovered a number of 'Jihadi' books, leaflets and member collection form from their procession, said Mofiz Uddin Sheikh, Officer-in-charge of Dimla Police Station, reports UNB.
