Two people were killed and three others injured as a covered van hit them in Rokonpur area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway under Nabiganj upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Sohel Ahamed of Debidar upazila in Cumilla district and Nanu Miah, a resident of Chunarughat upazila in Habiganj district.
Police said the accident occurred in the area at about 9 am when the covered van hit them as they were repairing a truck, leaving truck driver Sohel dead on the place of incident and four others injured.
The injured were sent to the Zila Sadar Hospital where Nanu Miah succumbed to his injuries, reports BSS.
