Minor siblings die after falling into canal while playing

Two minor siblings drowned in a canal at Chhoto Khurma village in Bishwanath upazila of Sylhet district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Rohan Ahmed, 12 and Redwan Ahmed, 8, sons of one Ezzad Ali of the village.

Mahbub Hossain Masum, a cousin of the victims', said Rohan and Redwan slipped into a canal near the home while they were playing on a roadside of the canal.

Later locals rescued them from the canal and sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital where doctor pronounced them death; according to a news agency report.
