Officials seize smuggled goods worth Tk 15 million in Gobindaganj

An anti-smuggling task force team have seized smuggled goods worth Tk 15 million in Gobindaganj on Tuesday.
The raid took place in Goleza Super Market in the upazila, according to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) officials.
The task force team comprised of BGB, police and other officials conducted drives at two godowns of ‘Wasim Cosmetics’ and ‘Haji Mossarraf Store’, said Commanding Officer of Rangpur 61 BGB Battalion Lt Colonel Md Shariful Islam.
Jointly led by Lt Colonel Md Shariful Islam and Executive Magistrate of Gaibandha Beer Amir Hamza, 25 BGB members and seven policemen took part in the daylong anti-smuggling drives.
The team seized huge quantity of smuggled goods, including fire crackers, cosmetics, imitation ornaments and other goods, worth about Tk 15 million in abandoned state from the godowns, BSS reported.
The confiscated goods were deposited with the customs authorities later.
