A girl committed suicide reportedly after being raped at Goalkhali village of Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj district on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Shetu Mondol, 14, an eighth grade student and daughter of Gopal Mondol of the village.
Shetu was reportedly abducted and raped on April 11, reports UNB.
Fariduddin, officer in-charge of Sirajdikhan police station, said hearing screaming sound in the morning, family members rushed to Shetu's room and found her hanging from the ceiling.
Although they managed to rush her to Dhaka Mitford Hospital for better treatment, she died in the afternoon while undergoing treatment.
The body was handed over to the family after autopsy.
Shetu was reportedly abducted and raped on April 11, said the OC.
Police arrested a suspected rapist named Sohel Miah, 24, while preparation of filing a case was undergoing.
