Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has launched a week-long mosquito control and cleanliness drive in Rajshahi University (RU) campus aimimg at making it free from the mosquito menace.
RCC Panel Mayor Shariful Islam Babu accompanied by its Ward Councilors Towhidul Haque Suman and Shahidul Islam and Chief Conservancy Office Sheikh Mamun opened the drive this morning with the call of making the RU campus free from all sorts of wastes, garbage and waterlogged.
In the drive, all possible breeding places like drains, bushes and landfills of mosquito will be cleaned. More than 100 workers were engaged for the purpose.
Sheikh Mamun said the city corporation has started conducting special crush programmes for mosquito control and cleanliness. In phases, all the major installations and institutions will be brought under the programme.
He also said the city dwellers are being motivated and inspired related to make their respective surrounding areas clean and eradicating the mosquito breeding places.
