A court in Dhaka has rejected the bail petition of a bus driver of 'Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan' in a case over the death of two college students in a road accident on Airport Road on July 29.
The accused driver is Mohammad Zubayer, reports UNB.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mazharul Haque passed the order on Sunday when Zubayer's lawyer Md Raiyan Islam submitted a petition for his bail.
Earlier on July 30, members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two drivers and two helpers of 'Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan' from different parts of the capital in connection with the accident.
Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul KarimRajib, students of the college section of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College, were killed as a bus ploughed through a group of students in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on Airport Road which spared off massive student protests across the country.
A case was filed over the accident on Sunday night.
