In Chuadanga, a man was found dead at Garchapra village in Alamdanga upazila, while in a separate incident police recovered a decomposed body of a young girl in Gazipur.
Quoting witnesses, police said Babu Mandal, 42, son of Shukkur Ali of the village went missing on Wednesday night.
On Thursday morning, local people found the body of Babu at a field in the village and informed the police who recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police said miscreants killed Babu some time on Wednesday night and dumped the body at the field, reports UNB.
In Gazipur, a decomposed body of a young girl was retrieved from a drum at a residential hotel at Hotapara area in Sadar Upazila on Thursday afternoon.
The identity of the girl, aged around 28, could not be ascertained immediately.
Local people smelt a decomposed body near the hotel which was closed for last couple of days and informed police.
Later, police recovered the unidentified body from a plastic drum.
The body was sent to Shaheed Taz Uddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy, confirmed Rafiqul Islam, in-charge of Hotapara Police Camp.
The girl was wearing a yellow shalwar and black veil at the time of her death, said Rafiqul.
