DB detains two cops among four for looting trader’s money

Detective Branch (DB) of police has detained two cops among four people on charge of looting Tk 0.95 million from a cattle trader in Satkhira.

According to the police, the arrestees were identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector Abdur Rauf and Constable Nadim of Dumuria Police Station in Khulna on Wednesday.

They also arrested one Moni Driver of Kamalnagar village, and Raju Hossain of Ghospara village in Sadar upazila of Satkhira, reports UNB.

Akkas Ali, officer-in-charge of Khulna DB of police, said the two policemen snatched Tk 0.94 million from cattle trader Liton Sarder of Nalkura village in the area on February 15.

Later, the victim filed a general diary (GD) with Dumuria Police Station accusing the duo.

Khulna DB police nabbed the policemen from the police station after the allegation was found to be true in primary investigation, the sources said.

Later, the two others were arrested from Satkhira as per the information given by the policemen.

Two years back, ASI Abdur Rauf was arrested on charge of snatching gold from a smuggler in Patkelghata upazila of Jhenidah, the report said.
