Police, in special drives arrested 23 persons including two activists of BNP and five drug traders from different areas of the district in last 12-hour ending at 8am on Monday morning.
Police also recovered 152 bottles of Phensedyl and 350 liters of locally made liquor during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
During the separate drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested seven persons including two drug traders with 350 liters of locally made liquor from Suihari area in the town around 7am, Birganj Thana police arrested two persons, Bochaganj Thana police arrested three persons, Hakimpur Thana police arrested two activists of BNP from South Basudebpur around 11pm of the upazila, Chirirbandar Thana police arrested four persons and Khansama Thana police arrested two persons.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
In another drive, Hakimpur Thana police arrested three alleged drug traders with 152 bottles of Phensedyl from Hili Railway station around 6am in Hakimpur upazila of the district.
The arrested people were sent to jail, reports BSS.
