A 60-year-old man was hacked to death allegedly by his drug-addict nephew at Ulpur village in Gopalganj Sadar upazila on Monday morning.
Officer-in-Charge (operational) of Sadar Police Station Moktar Hossain said the attacker Amir Hossain Fakir (30) used to torture his family members asking for money for purchasing drug.
The deceased Daud Fakir tried to obstruct Amir while he started to beat up his father for money at around 7am, UNB reports citing the OC.
At one stage, Amir hit his uncle with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.
Later, the drug addict was caught and handed over to police.
