A court in Netrokona on Thursday sentenced a man to death and two others to life term imprisonment for killing a man in 2013.
The condemned convict is Alim Uddin, 28, son of Abdur Razzak of Durgapur upazila.
The lifers are Elias, 22, son of Rajab Ali and Azizul, 35, son of Abdul Jabbar. The court also fined them Tk 20,000 each, in default, to suffer one month more rigorous imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, the convicts swooped on the house of Ismail Hossain, 60, a farmer of Charigaon village in Durgapur upazila, and killed him over previous enmity on January 1, 2013.
Jamila Khatun, wife of the victim, filed a case with Durgapur Police Station. Police submitted chargesheet against three people on June 10, 2013, reports UNB.
After examining the records and witnesses, District and Sessions Judge AKM Rasheduzzaman handed down the verdict.
