A court in Kishoreganj district has convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing his mother and wife over a family feud in 2003.
The convict was identified as Sabed Ali, son of Muslim Uddin of Egarosindhu village in Pakundia upazila.
According to UNB news agency, in its delivered on Thursday, the court also fined him Tk 5,000, in default, to suffer six months more rigorous imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, Sabed Ali had an altercation with his mother Zahura Khatun and wife Monwara Begum over a family matter on June 27, 2003.At one stage, Sabed stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving them dead on the spot.
Local people caught Sabed and handed him over to police.
After examining records and witnesses, Kishoreganj Additional District and Sessions Judge AGS Al Masud handed down the verdict.
