A group of miscreants hacked a member of United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) dead at his own residence in Rangamati’s Bagaichhari upazila on early Sunday.
According to the locals, Natun Moni Chakma (42), of Balukhali village was stabbed with sharp weapons by some miscreants while he was sleeping at his yard.
Officer-in-Charge of Baghaichhari Police Station, Amir Hossain said, tipped off, police recovered the body in the morning and sent it to Khagrachhari Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The cause of the killing and the identity of the killers could not be known immediately, reports UNB quoting the police official.
