Police arrest bus driver with heroin worth Tk 10m

Police in a drive arrested a man along with heroin worth Tk 10 million from a bus at Hatikumrul Golchattar in Salonga upazila under Sirajganj district early Thursday.

The arrestee has been identified as Dalim, 35, a bus driver and son of one Shukkur Ali of Sadar upazila in Chapainawabganj district, reports a news agency.

Tipped-off, a team of police intercepted a Rajshahi-bound bus of 'National Travels' and seized one packet of heroine, weighing one kilogram worth Tk 10 million from the bag of the bus driver around 1:45am, said, Abdul Quader Zialani, officer-in-charge of Salonga Police Station.

They also arrested the driver. A case has been filed.
