Five people, including a bus driver and his assistant, were arrested in connection with the 'gang-rape' of a garment worker on a bus at Kachmach in Dhamrai on Dhaka-Aricha Highway.
The arrestees are Md Sohel Rana, Makbul Hossain, Babu Mollik, Abdul Aziz, , Balram.
Officer-in-charge of Dhamrai Police Station Md Rizaul Haque said on Sunday night the victim got into a bus from Islampur area and all its passengers got down when it reached Kalampur bus stand area.
Then five staff of the bus, including its driver and his assistant, locked the gate and violated the girl one after another, he said.
According to UNB, after hearing scream of the victim, locals informed police.
Later, police chased the bus and rescued her from Kachmach area, he added.
Police also arrested five people from the spot.
