A housewife was found dead at a fish enclosure at Phultala village in Bagerhat Sadar Upazila on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Narjina Begum, 38, wife of Mohammad Ali Sheikh of East Karapara area of the upazila.
Locals contacted police after spotting the body, said Mahatab Uddin, officer-in-charge of Bagerhat Model Police Station.
Police retrieved the body and sent it to a local hospital for autopsy, UNB reported.
Police said they suspect the woman was stabbed to death on Sunday night.
No-one has been arrested in this connection.
