An armed robbery occurred at a workshop of Sinohydro Corporation, a Chinese state-owned construction firm that is working on the Metro Rail project in Dhaka.
The robbery took place around 6:30 pm on March 01 this year.
Later, a case was filed with the Rupnagar police station in Dhaka, said Abdul Mazid, officer-in-charge.
According to the case statement, a team comprising eight to 10 persons entered the workshop with knives, machetes and some other local weapons.
They tied up the security guards and other workers who were present at the workshop.
Later, the robbers snatched away goods worth about Tk 2.15 million, including batteries and parts of cars and trucks.
Mr Mazid said nobody involved in the robbery was arrested yet, adding that they were trying to arrest the culprits.
