Two suspected robbers held with firearm, ammo in Moulvibazar

A team of police in a drive arrested two alleged robbers along with a pipe gun and three rounds of bullets from Sreepur village in Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar district on Monday.

The arrestees were identified as Abdul Malek (27), son of Abul Mia of Sreepur village and Yasin Ali alias Kala Babul (40), son of Mortuj Ali of Choutannaganj village of Kamalganj upazila, reports UNB.

Shyamal Banik, officer-in-charge of Rajnagar Police Station, said being informed that a gang of robbers was taking preparation to commit robbery in the area, a team of police conducted a drive and arrested them along with a pipe gun and three rounds of bullets.

However, their other associates managed to flee the scene.

Several robbery and arms cases were filed against the arrestees with different police stations in the district, the OC added.
