DMP collects over Tk 3.5m in fines from traffic offenders
Files 4,752 cases against different modes of vehicles

Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Tuesday realised over Tk 3.531 million in fines from traffic offenders.
A total of 4,752 cases were also filed against different modes of vehicles for violating traffic rules, they said in a statement recently.
Of the cases, 890 were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 83 for using hydraulic horns, 12 for using hooters and beacon lights, and 21 others for using tinted glasses.
As for traffic violations by motorcycles, the traffic division filed 1,931 cases and seized 89 motorcycles.
A total of 32 motorcyclists faced cases for using mobile phones while driving.
Apart from this, the traffic police dumped 31 vehicles and wrecked 726 others.
