DMP files 3,221 cases for traffic rule violations

The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in its regular drive against traffic rule violations filed a total of 3,221 cases against different modes of vehicles in Dhaka on Wednesday.

The DMP also realised over Tk 2.658 million (Tk 26.58 lakh) in fines from the traffic offenders, according to DMP data.

Of the total cases, 267 were filed for driving on wrong sides, 58 for using hydraulic horn, four for using hotter and beckon light, and 14 others for using tinted glass in vehicles.

The department lodged 187 cases against motorcycle riders and seized 93 bikes over traffic rule violations.

Apart from this, the traffic policemen also dumped 20 vehicles and wrecked 775 others.
