'DPDC call centre to ease customer service'

State Minister for Power, energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Thursday said Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) Limited’s call centre would make a significant contribution to ease customer service.

“The call centre’s number should be unique so that people could memorise it and activities of monitoring cell would have to enhance,” he told this, while inaugurating the call centre as the chief guest at Biydut Bhaban in the city.

Nasrul said, “If the digital initiative would not be consumer friendly, then it would harass people and would not be fruitful. Initiative should be taken for coordinating the DPDC’s call centre number 16116 with the hotline number 999.”

During the inauguration ceremony, DPDC chairman Mohammad Shafiqiullah, Chairmen of BPDB Engineer Khaled Mahmood and Managing Director of DPDC Engineer Biksh Dewan were present, reports BSS.
