A fire erupted at Dhaka city’s Uttarkhan area in the early hours of Thursday.
Being informed, Fire Service and Civil Defence team rushed to Atipara Bazar spot.
After two hours of frantic effort, firefighters of Uttara station unit managed to douse the flame.
Senior station officer at Uttara station unit of Fire Service and Civil Defence Shafiqul Islam told the FE that a total of six units of their Uttara and Tongi team brought the fire under control.
The fire originated at around 3:30 am, but the cause of the incident could not be revealed yet, he added.
Prompt response of the department minimised most of the damage, however, some tin-shed shops were reportedly destroyed in the fire.
