Five election officials shot dead in Rangamati

Five election officials, including a presiding officer, were reportedly shot dead by miscreants in Bagaichhari upazila of Rangamati  on Monday evening.

The victims were returning to upazila town after the end of voting in the second phase of Upazila Parishad elections in Rangamati.

Among the deceased, Abdul Hannan was a presiding officer of a polling centre in the upazila.

The incident took place at Noymile area when the victims were returning to Baghaichhari upazila town with voting materials after concluding vote counting  in Sajek Konglak area, says Jamuna Television quoting the superintendent of police of Rangamati.
