Four firearms recovered in Sundarbans

Members of Coast Guard recovered four firearms from the Sundarbans in Mrigmari area of Monga upazila on Friday night.

Being tipped off that a gang of forest robbers was residing in the area, a team of Coast Guard conducted a drive in the area at around 8:00 pm.

Sensing presence of the coast guard members, the forest robbers fled the scene.

Later, the team recovered the firearms, UNB reported.

The weapons were handed over to Mongla thana police.
