A court in Joypurhat on Thursday sentenced four people to life term imprisonment in a case over killing of a farmer in Khetlal upazila in 2016.
The lifers are - Anisur Rahman, Shablu Khan, Ramjan Ali and Sohel Rana, residents of Golahar village.
The court also fined them Tk 50,000 each.
According to the prosecution, police recovered the slaughtered and stabbed body of farmer Dulal from his house on April 8, 2016.
Later, victim's brother Jahangir Talukder filed a murder case with Khetlal Police Station accusing five people.
When police arrested them they gave confessional statement at the court, reports UNB.
Among them, the number one accused Biplab Hossain died during the trial.
After examining all the records and witnesses, Joyourhat District and Session Judge Begum Mamtaz Parvin handed down the verdict.
